Spacetalk ensures the viability of Outer Space activities by providing a
collaborative communication platform where all space actors worldwide can
share their orbital data.
Spacetalk enables the exchange of high-quality data among all space actors globally but does not provide collision analysis itself. This includes Space Situational Awareness data and Space Traffic Management entities details, empowering each actor to conduct its own assessments.
Designated and responsive Points of Contact are assigned to each space object, streamlining direct coordination among space actors. This is implemented through a meticulously maintained Directory of space actors and Inventory of space objects, ensuring comprehensive and up-to-date information.
Preventing collisions and mitigating space debris by pooling resources – such as space debris data, trajectory information, space object status, and manoeuvres intentions – that can be shared among all space stakeholders worldwide.
The management of the platform remains neutral and transparent, emphasising the importance of fostering the broadest international dialogue without discrimination in order to target a 100% coverage of all space objects. Dynamic communication models with open interfaces enable each space actor to utilise its own standards and languages. Enhancing states’ visibility into the space activities of private actors within their responsibilities.
Spacetalk's project stood out from an impressive pool of 196 applicants and impressed the judges with its groundbreaking goal to establish a neutral, global digital platform for coordinating space traffic to enhance safety, accountability, and cooperation in space activities while reducing risks and preserving the orbital environment for all.
